Baked Apples

This is a great fall favorite and takes very little time or effort.

This recipe makes about 8 medium apples

The apples are best served warm with a scoop of ice cream

8 local crisp apples cored (you can use a knife and spoon to remove seeds if you dont have a corer)

4 tbsp butter

1/3 cup brown sugar

1/3 cup pecans ground roughly

1 tsp cinnamon

 

Core the apples and set into a cast iron pan-it is nice if the apples are packed in a bit since it helps them keep their shape.

Preheat oven to 375

Combine all other ingredients and mush together

Spoon mushy mixture into each apple and pack tightly

Bake for about 35-45 minutes or until the apples are soft and the filling is gooey

Top with local vanilla ice cream

Serve 1 per person or 1/2 per little person. This is one of Sweet P’s favorites and she can do the stuffing herself so she gives it a 5/5!
