The mystery vegetable is…

The LEEK! This delicious vegetable is in the onion or ‘allium’ family. It has a milder flavor than it’s cousin the onion. While an onion forms a tight ball of layers, the leeks layers are tubular giving them their characteristic long skinny shape. They are one of my favorite fall vegetables and are great braised, topped with bread crumbs, or in soups. Stay tuned for many LEEK recipes and more Veggie ID! Thanks for playing everyone!!
